Australia reduces the mandatory isolation period for people infected with Corona to 5 days

Australia decided to reduce the mandatory isolation period for people infected with the Corona virus from seven to five days, after state officials pressured Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to ease restrictions after the peak of the virus outbreak during the winter season.

"I believe that given the current evidence, this is an appropriate measure at this point in the pandemic, and the state's chief ministers have agreed to that," Albanese told reporters, Bloomberg News quoted Albanese as telling reporters.

He added that the government will cancel the requirement to wear masks on domestic flights.

These changes are scheduled to take effect from the ninth of next September.
