"The Big Heart" invites humanitarian work makers to participate in the "Sharjah Refugee Advocacy Award"

The Big Heart, the global humanitarian organization concerned with helping refugees and needy people around the world, invited humanitarian makers to participate in the seventh session of the Sharjah International Award for Advocacy and Support for Refugees for the year 2023, starting today, and until November 15, announcing the opening of the door to humanitarian organizations, institutions and individuals. To nominate any humanitarian organization or institution working in support and advocacy for refugees in the continents of Asia and Africa, through the Foundation's website.

The award is organized under the patronage and support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Big Heart Foundation, a prominent advocate for refugee children at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

The value of the award, which has been organized annually since 2017, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, is 500,000 dirhams, which is a special contribution from a big heart. The value of the award is not calculated from any donations made to the Foundation.

The award is dedicated to local humanitarian organizations in Asia and Africa that have provided exceptional services to refugees and forcibly displaced people from their countries, and have left positive sustainable impacts on their lives and their needs in general.

Mariam Al Hammadi, Director of the Big Heart Foundation, said, “Since its launch in 2017, the Sharjah International Award for Advocacy and Support for Refugees has stimulated many humanitarian organizations around the world to make more efforts to help needy groups and organize humanitarian work better, and with each cycle attracts the award. Better quality participation, and increasing international interest, which reflects the pivotal role of the UAE and Sharjah in the humanitarian field.

Al Hammadi stressed that "interesting in educating refugees or participating in making them happy with entertainment, showing films, interactive experiences targeting children, or vocational training, are acts no less noble than traditional relief works."
