In response to the criticism that "appropriate guidance is not being provided in some areas" due to an increase in the number of high schools that offer correspondence courses in wide areas, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's expert panel established the standard that "at least one teacher is required for every 80 students" for the first time. showed.

Regarding correspondence high schools, the number of students in private schools has more than doubled to over 180,000 over the past 20 years.

However, it has been pointed out that some private schools do not provide proper guidance, such as making souvenir shopping at theme parks a math class.

For this reason, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology held a meeting of experts to discuss the future direction of the system, and compiled a draft proposal on the 29th.

With regard to the teaching system, this proposal for the first time indicated the standard that "at least one teacher is required for every 80 students", citing that there are cases where one teacher is in charge of more than 100 students.

Regarding submissions, it was decided that a certain amount of descriptive questions should be included in addition to multiple-choice questions.

He also said that the national government should think about how to cooperate with local governments in order to investigate the teaching system of large schools that span three or more prefectures.

At the meeting on the 29th, there was an opinion that ``one teacher for 80 students is not enough, as some students have experience of not attending school,'' and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology will continue to review it.

This proposal will be published as a formal proposal on the website of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in early September, and revisions to laws and regulations and guidelines will be promoted based on the proposal.
