China News Service, Fuzhou, August 27 (Xue Yun) On the 27th, Chen Wanting from Nanping and Lin Jiajie from Fuzhou, two 23-year-old young people with great love, were in the same ward of the Union Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical University. Here, waiting to donate hematopoietic stem cells for two life-savings.

After five days of preparation, they will complete the donation on the 29th, becoming the 355th and 356th hematopoietic stem cell donors in Fujian Province.

It is reported that such a simultaneous "life rescue" also took place in the same ward of Xiehe Hospital in January this year. The donors were two young people from Fuzhou and Quanzhou.

Chen Wanting: "Big White" with a small body

Chen Wanting, born in 1999, is a medical staff in Nanping Maternal and Child Health Hospital.

She easily accepted the first mobilization dose with a confident smile on her face: "I am a medical student, and I understand all these procedures. Helping others stay away from illness is what we should do." Xiao Chen added to a blood donation in 2020. On June 1 this year, I received a call from the Red Cross Society of Fujian Province and learned that a patient with blood diseases might need her help.

"I knew that the probability of this match was very low, but I didn't expect it to be matched so quickly. At that time, I answered yes and regarded it as a gift for myself on Children's Day," she said.

On the day of the signing ceremony, the Union Medical College Hospital dispatched medical staff to support the Tibetan people in their fight against the new crown epidemic.

Seeing that the truck of the medical aid team in Tibet with a big red banner slowly drove out of the hospital door, and other colleagues in the hospital paid tribute, Xiao Chen was very emotional.

It turns out that she has also actively responded to the call many times and went to the front line of the fight against the epidemic.

Her small body contains a lot of energy, and with a smile she shared with everyone her "big white" trip in the second half of last year: "At that time, I first went to Putian Xianyou to support the fight against the epidemic, and then Quanzhou and Xiamen appeared one after another. During the epidemic, we went all the way without stopping or changing people. We lost a lot of weight along the way, but fortunately, we still weighed 50 kilograms, otherwise the donation will be affected later."

Seeing the cafeteria of Xiehe Hospital and seeing a variety of dishes to choose from, the girl smiled and said, "You must know that when we were doing 'Dabai', we were not only very tired, but also could not eat well. Once you have exercised your skin, it’s good to have something to eat!” Xiao Chen smiled and reassured the mother and the Nanping Red Cross volunteers who accompanied him that he would work hard to eat more and pay attention to his work and rest in the past few days, for this most meaningful task Get things ready.

In October 2021, Chen Wanting followed the medical team of Nanping Maternal and Child Health Hospital in Xianyou, Putian, to support the fight against the epidemic.

Lin Jiajie: Everyone is vulnerable and needs you and me to help

Lin Jiajie, who just graduated from college, joined the China Hematopoietic Stem Cell Bank in a blood donation activity organized by the school.

"I remember that a medical staff gave a detailed introduction to hematopoietic stem cell donation." Kobayashi recalled, "It was the summer of 2018. I learned that doing this would help others, so I chose to join."

In February 2022, Xiaolin received a call from the Red Cross Society of Fujian Province and learned that his condition had been initially matched with a patient with blood disease.

"I was quite surprised at the time, because after a long time, I kind of forgot about the storage." Kobayashi said with a smile, "Now our country has more than 1.4 billion people, and such a low matching probability was hit by me. "

Xiaolin took the initiative to "confess" to his parents a few months ago that he might donate hematopoietic stem cells.

Parents are anxious when they hear it: Donating hematopoietic stem cells requires bone marrow extraction, right?

Will it affect the body?

Xiaolin patiently explained obscure technical terms to his parents, showed them promotional videos and popular science videos, and took them to consult familiar doctors.

Parents' concerns were eased little by little.

"Each of us may be vulnerable." Xiaolin admitted that he rarely went to the hospital, but every time he went, he was very emotional.

"Every person lying on the hospital bed looks so fragile. This time I came to donate hematopoietic stem cells, and I can only help one person on the hospital bed."

He called on more people to join the Chinese hematopoietic stem cell bank: "Let's help more people in hospital beds together." (End)
