On August 24, the first dynamic detection train of the Maitreya-Mengzi high-speed rail departed from Maitreya Station with a whistle, marking that the Mi-Meng high-speed rail officially entered the dynamic detection stage of joint commissioning and testing, and the countdown to the opening and operation of the entire line began.

The Mi-Meng High-speed Railway is located in the Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province. It starts from the Nan-Kun High-speed Railway Maitreya Station in the north, passes through Maitreya City and Kaiyuan City in the south, and ends at Mengzi City, the capital of Honghe Prefecture. The main line is about 107 kilometers long and is designed to run. The target speed of passenger trains is 250 kilometers per hour.

The whole line will build 4 stations: Honghe Station, Kaiyuan South Station, Pengpu Station and Zhuyuan Station.

It is understood that the Mimeng high-speed railway is an important railway trunk line connecting the Kunming-Hekou Railway and the Nanning-Kunming Passenger Dedicated Line. It is an important part of the railway passage from southwest China to ASEAN countries.

After the completion and opening to traffic, the three cities of Mengzi, Kaiyuan, and Maitreya in Honghe Prefecture will realize a half-hour high-speed rail economic circle, and Kunming to Mengzi can be reached within 2 hours, which will become convenient passengers between the two major urban agglomerations in central and southeastern Yunnan. The transportation channel plays a role in accelerating the urbanization process along the route, the development of tourism resources, and the revitalization of rural areas, and provides a strong transport capacity support for Yunnan to build China's radiation center to South Asia and Southeast Asia.
