about to take a "revolutionary journey" into space.

This commemorative space flight is co-organized by Celestis, a subsidiary of the Texas company Space Services Inc. (SSI), which specializes in space funerals.

According to

, the ashes of Nichelle Nichols (Lieutenant Uhura), who died on July 30 this year, will go to the same destination as those of James Doohan (Scotty), who died in 2005;

and Majel Barrett Roddenberry (Nurse Chapel), who died in 2008, for a “first of its kind” mission, assures the Celestis company.

Last trip

Those of the creator of the television series who died in 1991, Gene Roddenberry, and the master of visual effects, Douglas Trumbull, who died in February of this year, will join them.

No date has been set for this great interstellar journey.

According to Celestial Memorial Spaceflights, the company providing this new kind of service, these spaceflights which carry ashes and messages to the deceased in space are completely “affordable”.

Note that reservations for the flight on which the ashes of the late Nichelle Nichols will make their last trip start at 12,500 dollars…
