  In 2008, Qingyuan, Guangdong held the first Eco-Poetry PEN Conference, focusing on and speculating on the relationship between man and nature through poetry creation and theoretical research. Since then, Qingyuan has chosen to use eco-poetry to promote the cultural strength of Qingyuan's eco-city construction. .

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese Poetry Society has actively responded to and implemented the "two mountains" theory that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", and at the same time began to carry out the practical planning and practical layout of ecological poetry.

  Wang Shan, Secretary of the Party Branch of the China Poetry Society, said that Qingyuan has attracted attention from all walks of life because of its continuous holding of ecological poetry activities.

Qingyuan ecological poetry is not only a distinctive cultural symbol of Qingyuan, but also has become a "Qingyuan phenomenon" that consolidates and revitalizes local culture, and is a pioneer city in the practice of "two mountains" theoretical poetry.

The naming of Qingyuan, Guangdong as China's first "Eco-poetry City in China" is true. Qingyuan is one of the important runways of the new era of poetry in the decade, and it is also a model for the integration of poetry into urban development and the construction of "Two Mountains Theory".

  Yang Ke, president of the Chinese Poetry Society, pointed out that the ecological poetry created and directed by Qingyuan is composed of the protection, inheritance and development of Qingyuan's history and culture, Qingyuan's landscapes and vegetation, and Qingyuan's people's lifestyle and living environment. The keywords "ecological poetry" complement each other with the place name of Qingyuan.

So far, Qingyuan has held three eco-poetry PEN conferences and published relevant collections of papers. Many experts, professors and scholars have established ecological aesthetics and ecological writing theoretical systems with ecological poetry as the core, taking Qingyuan eco-poetry as the cornerstone of their research.

  Cheng Xiangzhan, Distinguished Professor of Changjiang Scholars of the Ministry of Education, Vice Dean of the School of Literature, Shandong University, and doctoral supervisor, believes that the naming of the city of eco-poetry has a unique significance of the times: it not only has the cohesion of the city's new expectations, but also has new inspiration for the connotation of eco-poetry. It can also better play the leading role of ecological poetry in ecological art.

  Qi Huahai, deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the Qingyuan Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and director of the Qingyuan Municipal Civilization Office, introduced that Qingyuan has a tradition of landscape literature since ancient times.

From the past dynasties, Song Zhiwen, Zhang Jiuling, Han Yu, Su Shi, Fang Xinru, Hai Rui, Yuan Mei, Weng Fanggang have all left their poems in Xiashan and other places in Beijiang.

Facing the magnificent scenery of Feilai Gorge, Su Shi sighed with emotion that "the sky opens up the Qingyuan Gorge, and the earth turns to condense the Biwan"; Han Yu stayed at Qingyuan Longgong Beach overnight, and heard "the sound of the beach is even louder", all of which became Qingyuan. Evidence of "Poetic Dwelling".

He said that eco-poetry is a fertile soil for "poetic habitat". Eco-poetry is flourishing in Qingyuan, Qingyuan has become a "distribution center" of eco-poetry, and there are a group of poets who take eco-poetry as their creative direction.

  At the awarding ceremony of China's Eco-Poetry City, Qingyuan City also launched the 4th Qingyuan Eco-Poetry PEN Conference.
