Herring fillets have been the subject of a massive recall since Thursday, in several French stores.
The Rappel conso site mentions the presence of Listeria monocytogenes detected in certain products.
Several brands are affected by this alert: Gaston Seillier, JC David, Nos Régions ont du talent and La Cuisine du Poissonnier.
Gaston Seillier's "Sweet smoked herring fillets", sold in 200 g trays by Auchan throughout France, are part of the recall.
These items were marketed from July 23 to August 24, with the barcode 3461828064013 (health mark: FR 62 160 703 CE).

The recall also concerns the “Fillets of sweet smoked herring” of the JC David brand, available on the shelves of U, Monoprix and Carrefour express Wimereux stores, from July 22 to August 24.
The fish were packaged in pouches and trays of 200 g.
Two lots are listed: 203 with GTIN code 3461820010018 and 203 with GTIN code 3461820019011.

Finally, the “Sweet smoked herring fillets” from La Cuisine du Poissonnier were sold from July 23 to August 24 in the Grand Frais and Fresh stores.
The product was presented in 200g vacuum pouches: lot 203 with barcode 3461820010049.
Do not consume
Symptoms of Listeria contamination are: headache, fever and body aches.
“Listeriosis is a disease that can be serious and whose incubation period can be up to eight weeks,” recalls the government site.
If you have these symptoms after consuming these herring fillets, it is advisable to consult your doctor as soon as possible.
It is recommended that the product be destroyed or returned to the store for a refund.
