[Explanation] To celebrate the 85th anniversary of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, PolyU specially redesigned the gate of Block A of the campus into the main gate, and held an unveiling ceremony on August 24.
[Explanation] The main school gate combines the classic colonnade design with PolyU's iconic red brick architectural style. There is a plant green wall on the left side of the entrance plaza, and a slatted ceiling on the main staircase, adding a modern flavor to the building.
Li Jiachao, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, said at the unveiling ceremony that the main campus has not only become an important landmark of PolyU, but also symbolized that PolyU will uphold its internationally renowned educational and scientific research achievements, carry forward the past and open up a new chapter in the university's development.
