Goodbye Kensington and hello Windsor!

Prince William and his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, have confirmed that they are packing their boxes.

The couple and their three children indeed leave the heart of London for a quieter life not far from Queen Elizabeth II.

Kensington Palace said in a statement yesterday that Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte will return to school in September at Lambrook School, located in the town of Bracknell, just 10km from Windsor.

It is a private mixed school which welcomes pupils from 3 to 13 years old.

New life

The family will live in Adelaide Cottage, according to CNN, which is on the grounds of the castle where the Queen of England has called home since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This historic residence is rather modest for those who will one day ascend to the throne.

It is made up of only four rooms, which means that staff are unlikely to be housed in their homes, including any nannies.

However, the couple did not completely leave London (which is only about thirty kilometers away anyway).

Kensington Palace will remain their official residence and Anmer Hall in Norfolk their country home.

According to

Town & Country

, this move corresponds to the couple's desire "to have as normal a life as possible", by "offering their children the opportunity of a more rural childhood, far from central London, bustling life at Kensington Palace, which is a popular tourist attraction.

The family will also benefit from dedicated security at Windsor Castle, which should keep the curious away.

This change is also a homecoming for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

They only moved to the British capital in 2017. Before that, William and Kate resided at Anmer Hall, where they spent most of the confinement periods during the pandemic.
