On the day of the disclosure of the murder of Darya Dugina, carried out by Ukrainian special services, the Russian FSB distinguished itself twice - it prevented a terrorist attack that could become one of the most high-profile world events.

A suicide bomber who arrived from Turkey and planned to fly to India to kill one of the country's leaders was detained in Moscow.

But it didn't.

The terrorist was in isolation.

In broken Russian, he told in front of a TV camera how he was recruited by the terrorist group "Islamic State" * banned in Russia.

In his monologue, almost like a silent prisoner of Azov**, he tried to explain that he was not a terrorist, but a Muslim who could not endure the “insult of the Prophet Muhammad”, allegedly inflicted by one of the leaders of India.

And so, on the advice of senior comrades from the IG, he decided to avenge the prophet.

Almost unnoticed in Russia, the news that the Russian special services managed to prevent an attack on one of the leaders of the country caused a huge resonance in India.

For the second day in a row, the producers of leading Indian TV channels have been calling me and my fellow experts, trying to find out the details of how the terrorist was detained and to get comments on the progress of Russian-Indian anti-terrorist cooperation.

The topic of a joint fight against terror began to be discussed even before the arrest of the suicide bomber, when Ajit Doval, National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of India, visited Moscow last week and held talks with Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.

Today, no one seems to question this cooperation.

However, until recently, things looked different.

In a number of Indian media, they openly sling mud at Russia, talking about the "massacre in Bucha" and the "war crimes" committed against Ukraine.

Yes, that's right: not by Ukraine, but against Ukraine.

Immense as the Indian Ocean, the Indian information space, where there are tens of thousands of media broadcasting not only in English, but also in dozens of national languages, of which Hindi is far from the only one, has become a field of information warfare.

The Americans are spending a lot of money to tame this Indian ocean of information, sinking Russia to the bottom, and reformat the mass consciousness of a country whose leadership stubbornly refuses to join the sanctions war.

In this situation, the news about the arrest in Moscow of a terrorist who was preparing an assassination attempt on one of the leaders of the country confused the cards for many.

Not only to American lobbyists in India, but also to its strategic partner Washington, which has long been trying to tear India away from Russia.

At the very moment when the US Congress makes a decisive attempt to recognize Russia as a "state sponsor of terrorism", this state prevents a terrorist attack against the Indian leader.

The fact that the murders of national leaders are not horror stories, India knows from its history, not forgetting how Indira Gandhi and her son Rajiv died.

Yes, and the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, was killed by a fanatic.

Most of the history of the Indian state has passed under the guns of radicals and terrorists.

It is very symbolic that the disclosure of the murder of Darya Dugina and the detention of an ISIS man in Moscow took place on the same day, reminding India that the main world bases of terror are clearly not in Russia.

These attacks are carried out by Islamists and new Ukrainian terrorists - and Russia and India must join forces against the main threat.
