Megan Thee Stallion is determined to succeed and get rid of her contract signed in 2018 with 1501 Certified Entertainment.

The label refuses to recognize that the artist has provided them with the number of albums required by the agreement she signed with them in 2018. Not only does the rapper disagree, but this time, she is claiming $1 million in damages from them.

According to the label, Megan Thee Stallion owes them two more albums, considering that

Something for Thee Hotties

, released in 2021, does not meet the charter of what can be considered an original album.

The opus is composed of "freestyles available on YouTube and archival material dating from 2019".

The record company refers to their contract which states that their artist "must include at least 12 new original and never released masters".

Regarding his latest album,

Traumazine

, released on August 12, they have not yet assessed whether it meets the terms of their agreement.

For his part, the star also believes that he has signed a contract that does not meet the standards of what is done in the recording industry.

At stake, the percentages that each party must receive on royalties, but also tours and derivative products, as noted by Rolling Stone.

Megan Thee Stallion is due to file in mid-October and the trial may not begin until May 2023. Hostilities between the label and the artist began after the rapper was recruited by Roc Nation, which has been managing her since September 2019 .
