"Brigitio"...a historical masterpiece from the Roman era

The Roman bath complex in Hungary is one of the sites of great global historical importance, due to its uniqueness and ability to preserve its splendor all these years, in addition to being one of the first public baths in history, and the baths receive millions of tourists, and were considered one of the ancient “seven wonders of the world” in the West Known as Brigitio by the ancient Romans, it is famous for its well-preserved walls and floors made of red limestone slabs, showers and a central heating system known as the hypocoast.

Hot air and smoke from a nearby wood-fueled furnace circulate in a shallow chamber under column-supported floor tiles, called belay stacks.

This system was used to heat private villas, hot baths, and other public buildings in ancient Rome.
