She was freed from her shackles in a police car and seized their rifle (video)

An American woman who was being held in the back of a police car managed to untie herself from the handcuffs, seize an AR-15, and shoot police officers who were filling out an information form outside the car, injuring two people.

The woman, whose name was not mentioned, had been arrested for an unclear reason, and the police patrol decided that she needed to be evaluated, so they detained her in the back of the car designated for detainees after they tied her hands with handcuffs.

Within minutes, however, the woman was able to untie herself from the metal handcuffs and reach for the police weapon in the front of the car and use it.

Gary Bogers, the Grady County Sheriff's Office in Oklahoma (USA), explained to the BBC what had happened by saying that the woman was under the influence of "methamphetamine" tablets that reduce the feeling of pain, noting that this allowed her to escape from the handcuffs during the minutes she spent. In the back of the car, her wrist was damaged from trying to get rid of the handcuffs.

The woman then fired indiscriminately, wounding two people, and kept shooting until the stunned police finally got it under control.

Bogers added that after a 35-year service, "this is something you never thought would happen."

The woman was charged with attempted murder.
