It is in this corner of France, in the Périgord Noir, in the commune of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle in the Dordogne that Joséphine Baker has settled "her rainbow tribe", her twelve children, it is at the chapel of Milandes that she unites with the conductor Jo Bouillon, her fourth husband, and it is also there too, within this vast property that she engages for Free France in the Resistance.
Everything in this castle bears witness to and evokes the memory of this extraordinary great lady who marked the 20th century.
