“The slowest chase in the world” .. The thief in an excavator and the police on foot .. “Video”

In the chase video here, you won't see the dramatic acceleration of huge cars, nor officers running through the streets behind a nimble criminal, but instead a very cold pursuit between US police and a wanted thief as he tries to escape using a large, slow-moving excavator.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office in Oregon, 39-year-old Jesse Shaw is wanted for a car theft and has three arrest warrants related to drug delivery and a parole violation.

In an attempt to arrest him, police located him over the weekend at a property near Banks, Oregon, where Jesse tried to escape with an excavator he was driving when he saw police approaching.

On Twitter, police posted a video of the "chase" and commented that Jesse "led the excavator for more than half a mile and the cops followed him on foot until he stopped."

Sgt. Danny DePietro told Fox TV that it was "the slowest manhunt in the world."

According to him.

Because of the failed escape attempt, authorities charged Jesse with an additional charge of trying to evade the police.
