Naturopaths, urinotherapists, iridologists... These alternative practitioners are all present on the Doctolib online platform.

Profiles that are controversial with the Academy of Medicine, because they are referenced at the same level as traditional doctors.

Seventeen profiles have already been deleted by the platform.

The presence of so-called alternative practitioners, in particular naturopaths, on Doctolib is not welcome for everyone.

The online platform is accused of promoting unrecognized medicine.

On the site, there are, for example, urinotherapists, who explore the benefits of drinking urine, or even iridologists who determine your state of health from the iris of your eyes.

Some practitioners tout self-healing, while others advocate fasting for cancer and autism.

"Very detrimental for people who contact Doctolib"

On Monday, Doctolib reacted and deleted 17 naturopath profiles.

They were trained with Irène Grosjean, a practitioner who promotes, among other things, sexual assault on children to bring down fever.

For their part, doctors are indignant to see these people referenced on the platform.

This is the case of Pascal Charbonnel, general practitioner in Essonne: "We put at the same level of research results on the one hand the practices identified, controlled by the Academy of Medicine and the Academy of Pharmacy, and on the other side, practices that are all about charlatanism. So this confusion is something that is very, very detrimental for people who turn to Doctolib."

The online platform ensures that the presence of these practitioners is taken seriously.

Doctolib has indicated that it does not hesitate to report or close profiles in the event of a violation of the law.
