An American woman recovers her wedding ring after losing it in the ocean

A Massachusetts woman's diamond wedding ring has been returned to her finger after a man found it on social media by looking for it at the bottom of the ocean.

Francesca Till told the Boston Globe she was playing soccer with her husband this month in North Beach, New Hampshire, when the ring slipped off her finger.

Till posted about her ordeal on Facebook and asked for help from anyone who might come to the beach with a metal detector.

Her post has been shared thousands of times and it caught the attention of a man named Le Asi who decided to look for the ring

Asie, 60, of Marshfield, donned a wetsuit and headlight and went into the ocean looking for the ring with a metal detector.

In the first two days of research, he was not so lucky. "I can't stand failure. I wanted to go back and give it one last chance," Asi told the newspaper.

On the third day, he found the ring buried under the sandy bottom of the ocean, he said.

Asi sent a picture to Till, writing to her: "Please tell me this is the ring so I can finally leave this beach."
