A male student in the first year of junior high school in Hioki City, Kagoshima Prefecture, was given a letter of appreciation from the police for saving the life of a man who had fallen unconscious outdoors by giving him a heart massage.

This student had just learned how to perform a heart massage in a junior high school class the day before, and his quick decision saved his life.

Mr. Isshin Inadome (12), a first-year student at Dobashi Junior High School, received a letter of appreciation from the Hioki Police Station.



On the 10th of last month, Mr. Inadome was driving his mother's car to practice for his baseball team when he found a man lying unconscious.



Mr. Inadome reported to the fire department on his smartphone and performed a heart massage for about 10 minutes until the ambulance arrived.



According to police, the man was later discharged from the hospital and was contacted by his family saying, "The doctor explained that without the first aid, my life would have been in danger. I am deeply grateful." .



Mr. Inadome had learned how to perform cardiac massage and how to use an AED in a junior high school class the day before.



Mr. Inadome said, ``I wanted him to be saved, so I gave him a heart massage.
