On August 17, the Chongqing Meteorological Observatory announced that the highest temperature in most of Chongqing’s 21 districts and counties and the central urban area exceeded 40°C, and the highest temperature at the National Station in Beibei District was 44.6°C, which is the first high temperature since meteorological records in Chongqing. .

On the afternoon of the 17th, the reporter conducted several sets of tests in the sun. Among them, the outdoor thermometer "exploded" after it exceeded 50 °C.

Two electronic thermometers measure the temperature of the ground and the motorcycle seat respectively. After displaying 58.7°C and 72.2°C respectively, the thermometer shows a system error and stops working.
