The official conclusions of the inquest into the death of actress Anne Heche have been reported by several media, including ABC.
California investigators and the forensic service concluded that the death was accidental.
Specifically, "death was caused by smoke inhalation and the onset of thermal injuries," according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's website.
It is also indicated that the actress, who had a violent car accident which resulted in the fire of her Mini Cooper while she was inside, "suffered a significant fracture (of the sternum) caused by blunt trauma" .
The official date of death has been set for August 11.
A more complete autopsy is in progress, but the search for narcotics found in a blood sample from the actress was abandoned after the declaration of brain death.
No legal action should be taken.
