China News Agency, Beijing, August 18 (Reporter Chen Su) At 18:00 on the 18th, the Central Meteorological Observatory issued the first meteorological drought warning this year, and it is expected that the risk of continued drought will be greater in the later period.

Since July 1 this year, Jiangnan, Jianghuai, Jianghan, Sichuan and Chongqing have experienced less precipitation, high temperature and high temperature for a long time, and extreme weather and drought have developed rapidly.

On the 18th, the Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a high temperature red warning, which was the 29th consecutive day that the Central Meteorological Observatory issued a high temperature warning.

According to the meteorological drought monitoring that day, there were moderate or above meteorological droughts and local extreme droughts in southern Jiangsu, southern Anhui, most of Zhejiang in western Hubei, Jiangxi, Hunan, most of Guizhou, Chongqing, most of Sichuan, and central and eastern Tibet.

The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that the above-mentioned dry areas will remain high temperature and little rain in the next three days. The Central Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow warning of meteorological drought at 18:00 on the 18th.

Zheng Changling, a senior engineer at the National Meteorological Center, said that since late June, the average number of high temperature days in the southern region has been the highest since 1981, with southern Jiangsu and Anhui, most of Hubei, most of Zhejiang, eastern Jiangxi, central and western Hunan, and eastern Sichuan Basin. Compared with the same period in the same period, the regions have 16 to 36 days more, and most of these regions have less precipitation than the same period of the year.

High temperature and little rainfall have led to the development of drought in some areas, affecting the growth and development of autumn crops and economic fruit production.

The Central Meteorological Observatory predicts that in the next two weeks, the Jianghuai, Jianghan, Jiangnan, Sichuan Basin and southern Shaanxi will continue to have high temperature weather, with the highest temperature reaching 35℃ to 38℃, and the local area will exceed 40℃.

From August 24 to 27, precipitation will occur in most of Jianghuai, most of Jiangnan, and Sichuan, with a cumulative rainfall of 10 mm to 50 mm.

However, after the rainfall, the high temperature and heat damage in Jianghan, northern Jiangnan, and southeastern Southwest China will continue.

It is expected that in September, the temperature in most parts of the south will still be "high", and compared with the same period in previous years, the precipitation in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River will be 20% to 50% less, and the risk of continued drought is greater.
