Jonah Hill needs a rest.

The actor confided that his mental health issues now require special attention and that he has made an important decision: he will no longer participate in the promotion of his films, until further notice.

The move also involves promoting her own film,

Stutz

, in which the star opens up in a very intimate way about her mental health issues.

The documentary follows Jonah Hill's relationship with Phil Stutz, a psychotherapist the actor consulted on the advice of Joaquin Phoenix, and the Supergrave star's struggle to feel better about himself.

“Through this journey in film, I realized that I spent nearly 20 years having panic attacks, which are exacerbated by media appearances and public events,” Jonah Hill said in a statement accompanying the release of the film, relayed by Deadline.

“You won't see me promoting this movie, or any of my upcoming movies, while I take this important step to protect myself.

If I made myself even sicker promoting the movie, I wouldn't be true to myself or the movie," he added.

Privileged

Jonah Hill recognizes that he is one of those who "can afford to take time off" and that he is "privileged", but he no longer feels capable of performing.

And he hopes to inspire others to take time to deal with their psychological issues.

“With this letter and with

Stutz

, I hope to make it more normal for people to talk and act on these issues.

So they can take steps to feel better and so the people in their lives can understand their issues more clearly,” the actor’s statement read.

Jonah Hill isn't the only star to make this kind of drastic decision to refocus on his mental health.

Tenniswoman Naomi Osaka made noise last year when she decided, in the middle of the Roland Garros tournament, to no longer answer questions from journalists during press conferences.

And earlier this week, Tom Holland, the young star of

Spider-Man

, announced to his social media followers that he was going to step back, after finding that Instagram and Twitter were negatively affecting his Mental Health.
