After being diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in February, famous Sudanese singer Mona Magdy insists on fighting it with music and love.

Mona traveled to Cairo for treatment, but there she was battling illness and loneliness, so she decided to return to Khartoum because she realized that support from loved ones and fans was essential to her recovery.

She went on stage with a shaved head and greeted her audience at a party she held last week, and said she was living her best days.

Mona said, "My return was a good thing for me because I was in very bad spirits, so I decided to come to Sudan and I knew that when I watch the people I love and my friends, this will affect my psyche and this is what happened."

I am now living the most beautiful days and moments of my life and I do not feel that I am sick .. I feel healthy and good.”

And she expressed her gratitude for the support and love she received from her audience, saying, "The impact of the audience applauding me while I was in the theater was an indescribable feeling. I was very happy and this is one of the most beautiful things that happened to me in my life, and thanks for this disease that showed me how much people love me, and I am very happy." With this love and with this support, and the audience’s celebration of me puts me in front of a great responsibility, and I feel that I am fighting disease with music and a lot of songs, creativity and love.”

Two of her songs, one titled “The country is our civil right, our government” and the other, “A free Sudanese and a free patriot,” ignited the revolutionary spirit among the protesters who rushed to take pictures with her at a protest last week.
