The 30-year-old Wan Huiwen has been rooted in the grassroots for 11 years. He has participated in more than 1,600 firefighting and rescue operations, rescued more than 140 trapped people, won one third-class personal merit, and was awarded seven times. ".

On August 11, he slept in the No. 1 bed closest to the bedroom door, rushed into the No. 1 car that always arrived at the fire site first, and went back and forth at the fire scene of the Shangfeng Logistics Distribution Center, No. 149 Dongcheng Avenue, Banan District, Chongqing. Put out fires several times.

The fighting was tired and hot. During the rest, Wan Huiwen unbuttoned his shirt and slumped on the ground. Teammate Shen Shengqi hurriedly handed over the dinner box: "'Brother Ma' said he couldn't eat it, so let me put him next to him for a while. Say it again."

Seeing that his teammates were wearing equipment and preparing to enter the fire scene for investigation, Wan Huiwen, who was already exhausted, took the initiative to stand up and once again chose to stick to the most dangerous place, "I am more familiar with the situation inside than you, you rest again, I will go in and see. Look."

This time, he suffered an explosion and was unable to come out safely.

The lunch box that was put aside, never waited for its owner.

This fresh life is forever fixed in the extremely hot summer of 2022.

"Take him out, but failed to bring him back alive... Until the last moment, we were still praying for a miracle to happen." Jiang Dan, the station chief of the Nanping East Road Station of the Special Service Detachment, burst into tears.

As the leader of the First Division of the Nanping East Road Station of the Special Service Detachment of the Chongqing Fire Rescue Corps, "Ma Ge" is recognized as the "Almighty King" in the fire station and an idol for newcomers.

"In one training, he was abseiling on the 6th floor. He injured his tail vertebra. He was sweating profusely without saying a word. He asked to return to the team after three days of hospitalization." Teammate Xu proudly recalled.

Ran Hao is Wan Huiwen's new recruit in 2020. He remembers that when he joined the team on the first day, "Brother Ma" had already collected all the new firefighters' belongings, "Whether it was training or other matters, he always personally Demonstrate, and teach us to do it again and again." The high-intensity training made the recruits a little uncomfortable, and "Brother Ma" always accompanies them to run and practice together: "I am much older than you, I can do it, you You can, of course, don't give up!"

On weekdays, Wan Huiwen is a ubiquitous "warmhearted" - he regards his residence as his hometown, and regards the people in his jurisdiction as his relatives.

On the front line of the fight against the epidemic, he is a volunteer, assisting the community to carry out prevention and control publicity, material handling, cleaning, disinfection and disinfection.

On holidays, he cleans, cuts hair for the elderly, chats with the orphans and widows... He is active in every corner of the nursing home.

Over the years, Wan Huiwen insisted on taking part of her salary every month, donating to UNICEF, and quietly subsidizing poor children in remote areas.

"He never told us that he only saw his certificate of donation to UNICEF when he was sorting things out," said teammate Wang Bo.

In a basketball game in July this year, Wan Huiwen met Chen Lian, the squad leader of the fourth shift of the Zhoubai Special Qin Fire Station of the Qianjiang Detachment, and his teammates who participated in the new training together 11 years ago. The two talked about their plans for the future of the family.

In the two years of marriage, Wan Huiwen and his wife are too far apart, and they do not meet many times a year.

"A firefighter can apply for a job change after 12 years. It's been 11 years this year. He said that he plans to return to Shandong next year to spend more time with his family and hope to have a child." Chen Lian recalled.

When Wan Huiwen talked about this, the smile on his face was full of expectation.

Today, this has become a wish that can never be fulfilled.

"'Brother Ma', get up--" Between half-dreaming and half-awake, teammate Peng Mingda habitually shouted to bed number 1 next to him.

After a while, he woke up suddenly, his eyes red all of a sudden.

Wan Huiwen's cell phone, which was too late to take away, was still vibrating constantly, and 999+ WeChat messages were calling him anxiously.

The heroic spirit is immortal, and the heroic spirit lasts forever.

Martyr Wan Huiwen, go all the way!
