The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announced that it was confirmed that parliamentary vice-minister Kunimitsu was infected with the new coronavirus.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Kunimitsu had symptoms of sore throat and cough on the 13th, and was confirmed positive as a result of a PCR test at a medical institution on the 14th.
He is currently recuperating at his home in Ibaraki Prefecture and has no symptoms.
Parliamentary Vice-Minister Kunimitsu was newly appointed as Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications on the 12th of this month due to the remodeling of the Cabinet, and attended the Parliamentary Secretary's Meeting at the Prime Minister's Office, but there were no close contacts.
