The Awa Odori in Tokushima City, which was held in the city for the first time in three years, ended on the night of the 15th with a "so-odori" where many dancers danced together.

The Awa Odori will be held in Tokushima City for the first time in three years from the 12th of this month. Dance performances were held every day, attracting a large number of tourists.



On the 15th, the last day of the festival, the 4-day schedule ended with a large number of dancers dancing together at the performance hall in Nannaimachi, Tokushima City.

According to the executive committee, more than 100 groups of dancers participated in this year's Awa Odori, and performed dances while taking measures against infection with the new corona, but many dancers did not participate. In some cases, multiple groups danced together.



Dancer Masanori Arao said, "I'm very happy to be able to dance at Sajiki for the first time in three years. Next year, I want to dance at a big venue like before."



It was the first time in three years that there were no restrictions on movement during Obon, and some hotels in the area were fully booked, and many tourists visited and enjoyed dancing together.



A tourist from Saitama said, "It was fun because events such as fireworks were canceled due to the new coronavirus."
