At the "Matsue City Park Cemetery" in Oba-cho, Matsue City, families and others visited the grave on the 13th as the maximum temperature exceeded 30 degrees from the morning.



Visitors sprinkled water on the tombstone with a ladle and carefully cleaned it with brushes and sponges, then offered colorful flowers.

An 8-year-old girl who returned from Hiroshima said, "I came to visit my grandfather's grave. I prayed for her to live well in heaven."



In addition, a woman who returned from Kyoto with her family said, "It's my grandfather's first Bon festival, but I couldn't attend the funeral due to the new corona, and I couldn't show the face of the child who was born, so I'm glad I was able to show it in this way. In Kanazawa, people who returned to their hometowns during the Obon holidays would visit graves and hold memorial services for the spirits of their ancestors.

At Nodayama Cemetery, the largest cemetery in Ishikawa Prefecture in Kanazawa City, many people visited the grave on the 13th in the severe heat.



After cleaning the graves and offering flowers, the visitors put incense sticks and put their hands together to mourn the deceased and their ancestors.



A man in his 40s who returned from Yokohama and visited the grave with his family said, ``I couldn't go home easily due to the influence of the new coronavirus, so today I was able to visit with my family for the first time in a while. In addition to memorializing my ancestors, I also wanted the new corona to settle down as soon as possible."
