Tokushima City's Awa Odori began on the 12th with a box set up in the city for the first time in three years, and dancers are performing dances while taking measures against the new coronavirus infection.

The Awa Odori in Tokushima City opened on the 12th, and the highly skilled "famous Ren" dance began at the dance hall in Aibahama Park in the center of the city.

The Awa Odori in Tokushima City was canceled for the first time after the war two years ago due to the spread of the new corona infection, and last year it was held mainly indoors, and it was the first time in three years that the dance was set up in the city.

The executive committee has traditionally reduced the size of the venue, and the dancers are dancing with measures against infection, such as measuring the temperature of the dancers every day.

In front of the venue, JR Tokushima Station, large-scale traffic restrictions have been implemented, allowing tourists and others to participate and dance on the streets, and some of the hotels in the area are fully booked.

A person who came to see the dance said, "There are some scary things about the new corona, but it's been three years since everyone was looking forward to it, so I'm happy that it was held in this way."

The Awa Odori in Tokushima City will be held until the 15th of this month, and during the period, dances such as the "So Odori" where many dancers dance together will be performed in various places.
