Gunma Prefecture announced on the 12th that 1,601 people were newly infected with the new coronavirus in the prefecture and one death was confirmed.
That's 1,018 fewer than last Friday's 2,619.
On the other hand, the prefecture withdrew a total of five people announced from August 8th to 11th.
The number of confirmed infections in the prefecture reached 161,954, of which 367 died.
