China News Agency, Hangzhou, August 11th, title: Confucius descendants serve as ambassadors of Chinese culture of filial piety: How can we talk about filial piety without being friendly and cheerful?

  Author Wang Titu

On August 11, when talking about filial piety, Kong Lingli, the eldest grandson of Confucius' seventy-sixth generation, quoted Confucius' "Analects of Confucius" in "Zixia asked about filial piety. , did you think you were filial?'" replied.

Kong Lingli has his own unique views on the inheritance and promotion of the culture of filial piety.

He said, "Merciful filial piety is the traditional culture of the Chinese nation and the essence of Confucianism. The practice of filial piety can be summed up by the word 'the difficulty of color' in the Analects of Confucius, that is, it is very important for the elders to be kind and happy."

On August 13, Kong Lingli will be the ambassador of Chinese filial piety culture to participate in the 2022 8th Chinese filial piety culture festival to be held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province to help inherit the Chinese filial piety culture.

Kindness and filial piety are the ethical starting point of Chinese civilization and the greatest common divisor of Chinese sons and daughters at home and abroad.

Since 2015, China News Service and Hangzhou Lingyin Temple have co-organized seven Chinese filial piety culture festivals to promote Chinese filial piety culture at home and abroad.

Previously, well-known personalities such as Li Yugang, Qi Yu, Zhao Wenzhuo, Deng Yaping, Hou Jingjian and others have been hired as Chinese cultural ambassadors of filial piety.

It is reported that Confucian culture is the backbone and core of traditional Chinese culture, and the culture of filial piety is an important foundation of Confucian culture.

In the Confucian school, Confucius is a person who comprehensively discusses filial piety. In the Analects of Confucius, the Classic of Filial Piety and other books, Confucius' remarks on filial piety are recorded.

As a descendant of Confucius, Kong Lingli has been committed to inheriting and promoting Confucian culture, and advocated the practice of filial piety in the family.

Quzhou, Zhejiang Province, where he is located, is the residence and second hometown of the descendants of the sage Confucius. In recent years, he has continued to promote the inheritance and revival of Nankong culture.

The appointment of Kong Lingli as the ambassador of Chinese filial piety culture will undoubtedly contribute to the expansion of the cultural influence of filial piety and the inheritance of great love.

To practice kindness and filial piety, in addition to treating elders with kindness and cheerfulness, Kong Lingli believes that it is equally important to serve and honor elders according to their wishes, and to accompany them for the rest of their lives.

In real life, Kong Lingli also practices filial piety.

He told reporters that from 2018 until March 10, 2021, when his father was hospitalized for medical reasons, he served nonstop for more than three years.

Every day at around 6:30 in the morning, around 11:30 at noon and around 5:30 in the evening, he would go to his parents' house on time to cook for him.

"If I have a meeting temporarily or I can't go to my parents' house to cook for something, my wife will also go there." Kong Lingli said that he would accompany his parents after dinner every day, and he would not go back to his home until the parents rested.

In Kong Lingli's view, family is the best place to inherit and carry forward the culture of filial piety.

"The inheritance and promotion of the culture of filial piety from generation to generation requires us to lead by example. The next generation is watching our generation grow up. Whatever we do, they will do the same."

Therefore, he said that in the future, when promoting Confucian culture in schools, enterprises and any group, he will also actively advocate the practice of filial piety in the family.
