Brad Pitt and David Leitch are no strangers to each other.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, their relationship goes back more than twenty years.

That didn't stop the comedian from dispatching a "spy" to see how David Leitch worked before signing on to

Bullet Train

.

That's the funny revelation made by the wife of the film's director and producer, Kelly McCormick, during an interview with Collider.

According to her, Brad Pitt sent his makeup artist to check on how David Leitch was doing as a director.

“During the Hobbs and Shaw reshoots, he has this makeup artist named Jeanie Black, who is amazing.

She and David were also friends at the time.

She came and did Jason (Statham) makeup during the filming, said the producer.

Usually she is not available.

She takes care of Julia Roberts.

She is always very busy.

But she come and said, "I'm a spy. I gotta see if Leitch has the stuff."

Stuntman

When Brad Pitt and David Leitch met in the late 1990s, David Leitch was Brad Pitt's stunt double.

They worked together on

Fight Club

,

Ocean's Eleven

and

Troy

, in particular, or even

Mr. and Mrs Smith

, in 2005, which was their last collaboration.

But Brad Pitt had never worked under the direction of the stuntman and stunt setter, who had moved on to directing by directing

John Wick

.

If the director confesses that it took a few minutes of adaptation for them to take their respective places on the set, David Leitch was delighted with the enthusiasm of the actor: "I was excited and blown away by the way which he had followed my career once we parted ways and I started moving into second unit directing and directing.

So he enjoyed what I was doing, and when I called he was excited to collaborate again,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

Note that Brad Pitt wanted to perform the majority of his stunts in

Bullet Train
