This summer, a night pool opened on Shodoshima in Kagawa Prefecture, where the lighting and other features have been devised so that guests can enjoy the pool at night.

It is popular among young people because it looks good on SNS.

It was created by Masakatsu Ozawa, a university student in Takamatsu City.

We planned to revitalize Shodoshima, where the number of tourists has decreased due to the influence of the corona, with the power of young people.

Shodoshima is a popular tourist island with a population of approximately 25,000.

However, due to the corona crisis, the number of tourists has dropped to 60%, and the island's economy is being hit.

The long-established hotel where the night pool opened is also expected to attract customers, with sales falling to less than half.

Fundraising is also Ozawa's role.

In order to collect the cost of the equipment, I visited about 20 companies on the island with the goal of 1 million yen in sponsorship money.

Young people from inside and outside the prefecture visited on the opening day.

We will also take measures against corona such as temperature measurement and disinfection.

Visitors enjoyed taking pictures with their own poses aiming for SNS.

Mr. Ozawa said, "I'm glad that we managed to open it safely. I hope that this will lead to an increase in the number of tourists visiting Shodoshima."

Shodoshima's night pool was born from the idea of a university student.

It looks like it will be a new light in Setouchi.

*The night pool is scheduled to be open until the end of September, mainly at night on weekends
