As the spread of the new coronavirus spreads, the number of medical institutions closed during the Obon period increases, so in Meguro Ward, Tokyo, a temporary fever outpatient clinic was set up in the ward office.

Temporary fever outpatient clinics will be opened with the cooperation of the local medical association using the holiday clinic at the Meguro Ward Office.

On the 11th, as soon as the reception started at 9:00 a.m., the phone calls came incessantly, and all the slots for morning appointments were immediately filled.

Then, an elementary school girl with a fever of 39 degrees, and parents and children in their 80s and 50s with underlying diseases visited the clinic and underwent an antigen test after being examined by a doctor.

Nine out of 11 people who took the test in the morning were positive, so when the test results were known, the nurse explained points to note when recuperating on the spot.

Dr. Taizo Murabayashi of the Meguro Ward Medical Association said, "We have reached the Bon Festival with the infection peaking, but we would like to respond so that even one person who cannot see a doctor can be reduced."

Eiji Aoki, mayor of Meguro Ward, said, "There are more holidays during the Obon period, so I would like people who have symptoms and who cannot be tested elsewhere to use it."
