Miyagi Prefecture and Sendai City announced on the 9th that 3,585 new people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
There were over 300 more people than last Tuesday, the second highest ever, and the highest ever for a Tuesday.
The prefecture and Sendai city also announced that four people had died.
The total number of infected people in Miyagi Prefecture is 158,863, and the total number of deaths is 235.
