Brazilian: the bikini panty that 'divides' the Spanish
Why the corset returns, from a sexual fetish to a top trend garment
With the high temperatures showing no signs of giving up, 'domestic nudism' seems irremediable.
At least as much as the disappearance of ice cubes from supermarkets and gas stations.
Although we Spaniards are not very fond of walking
around the house naked,
not even sleeping naked.
Only 11% do so, according to a Meetic study, compared to 28% of the French.
Does our
modesty
surpass us or what surpasses us is the
gaze of others
(come on, the modesty of others)?
[In this sense, it is interesting to note the
drop in toplessness
on
Spanish beaches
over the last two decades.
Pointed out as 'guilty':
social networks.
Come on, the look of others, but beastly].
Maybe there is a little of both.
As
Esperanza Nieto,
recently retired property manager for the last three decades, explains,
complaints
about a
neighbor walking naked through her house
have been her daily bread.
"Spaniards, in general, complain about nudity. They're terrible at it," explains this professional who has developed her work, paradoxically, in one of the pioneering Spanish towns in terms of naturism: Vera (Almería).
"The nude generates
many complaints
, whether it occurs
outside
, on a beach, or if it takes place in the limits of the
home,
on the
terrace
, or inside.
And that this happens here, in Vera, is especially surprising.
I have had clients who have bought a house on the edge of the nudist zone, being aware of this fact, and who still later complained about seeing nudity in their surroundings.
Children are often used as an excuse - like: 'oh, how embarrassing, with children passing by and going to see naked people' - when in reality it's not the children who care, they are on their own.
I've been told this countless times."
Private nude becomes public
It is not surprising, therefore, that Spanish men and women are more than cautious when it comes to being naked in their own home.
Of course, there are exceptions: "If I'm alone at home I love to go naked, and if I lived alone I would go like this all the time. Fresh", shares RR from Barcelona.
And from suffocating Madrid, says M. M: "It is probable that my neighbors know my ass perfectly, because in summer I am usually naked and the curtains are not always drawn (which does not mean that I stand at the window to contort myself). I don't think my body is offensive, really. It's the body that God has given me."
For her part,
Bel García
(figurative name), assures that she is usually
naked at home
in summer, although her husband and daughter do not share the custom.
"I have
few neighbors
and because of the distribution of their houses it is difficult for us to coincide. In that sense, I am more comfortable," she clarifies.
Living for a time in a country house in Menorca was, he explains, decisive in acquiring this habit: "Since then I have not stopped doing it. For our daughter it is not a problem, she has seen us like this since she was born. But when she entered adolescence, she developed another sense of 'modesty' and does not show herself naked".
The pleasures of nudity
For Bel García, the main reason for being naked in her house is "the
enjoyment
of
not wearing clothes
. It bothers me greatly. In fact, for years I have been wearing a
bra
again to go to work or to other tasks in 'civilization'. But I spent years without it. I can't stand the
pressure
of some
clothes
."
And besides, she adds, "naked, with the heat they do, it's the best way to be."
In Spain, it must be said, the
law protects
those who decide to be naked at home (in fact, although it is not the subject of this report, it would also, according to experts consulted, those who decide to go naked in the street), always that
there is no
indecent
exhibitionist intention.
An example of this: a few years ago, a man was sentenced to pay a fine of 2,100 euros for a
crime of indecent exposure
by a court in Murcia.
Of course, he had gone out naked on the balcony of his house and had shown his ass (with provocatively repetitive movements) to three minors who were in the street, after drawing their attention by clearing his throat and before threatening to throw eggs at them (!).
Anyway.
To bed, the Spanish go with clothes
The fact is that it's bedtime and we don't go to bed without clothes either, Marilyn Monroe's ectoplasm or living and living celebrities like
Victoria Beckham
(who in 2007 said she slept naked to notice David's skin) can now say mass
against hers),
Cristina Pedroche
(she also claims to wear perfume for bed) or
Sofía Vergara.
Spanish women are not at all fond of walking around their homes naked... or undressing completely at bedtime.
And that from
science
they tell us that
sleeping without
is, from the outset,
healthier
than doing it
with clothes.
A study carried out years ago by the American
National Sleep Foundation
stated that the probability of
suffering from diabetes
decreases if we sleep undressed.
Of course, for this you need to sleep in a cool room (cool, not like the inside of a Camy popsicle chest).
Sleeping naked improves health... and loses weight?
Other studies (there have been many, surprisingly) have determined that nudity favors the
quality
of sperm,
sleep
, improves
blood circulation,
is
detoxifying
, improves
vaginal health,
reduces
stress
and has even been wanted to be seen in the custom of sleeping without clothes, an indicator of
good health of the couple.
Of course, to surprises, the one that leaves us with a study carried out by the American
National Institute of Health
, according to which staying cool while sleeping
speeds up the body's metabolism
because it creates more brown fat to keep it warm.
This fat produces heat by
burning calories
(300 times more heat than any other organ in the body), and this speeds up your metabolism for the rest of the day, helping you
lose weight.
Anyway, you know, with tweezers.
