Cancer of the cervix is the twelfth most common cancer in women in France.

The cancer develops gradually, starting from so-called precancerous lesions.
Most are caused by different viruses from the papillomavirus family.
It is important that all women between the ages of 25 and 65 who have not had a smear test for at least 3 years get tested.
