Led by a group of rare poems and manuscripts of Yan Fu's letters, some of the fine products of the 2022 Xiling Spring Auction and the Fujian Xiangxian Cultural Auctions are the first to appear.

  Yan Fu is a famous enlightenment thinker, translator and educator in modern China. This year marks the 101st anniversary of Yan Fu's death.

At the exhibition site, Lang Lingyan, a descendant of Yan Fu, told a reporter from Chinanews.com that Yan Fu is a master of ideology and culture in the public's impression, but the "Yan Fu" shown in this batch of family letters is a man who cares about his children's education and focuses on cultivating his children's artistic accomplishment.   From Yan Fu's chronology and the inscription of the book, it can be seen that this batch of Yan Fu's family letters and handwriting manuscripts were written between 1918 and 1920 (a few years before Yan Fu died of illness, and traveled around Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Fuzhou) and between 1907 and 1909.

As Chen Baochen wrote in "The Epitaph of Emperor Yan Jun, the Former Senior Minister of the Qing Dynasty, the Navy Association Capital": "Although (Yan Fu) has small poems and short notes, they are all exquisite and precious to the world." The art of calligraphy is all in one, passed down by the Yan family, well preserved and very precious.

  Among them, the letter from home (written on 1918.7.27-1921.6.2), has a total of 17 letters (one without envelopes), totaling 51 pages (18 pages are envelopes), of which the last seven in chronological order (1920.11.1-1921.6. 2) They were all written by Yan Fu in the former residence of Langguan Lane, Fuzhou.

In his later years, Yan Fu traveled between Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Fuzhou because of the marriage of his three sons and medical treatment.

Due to physical reasons, many family affairs have to be left to his wife and eldest son, and Yan Fu pays special attention to the education of his children, so his correspondence is very frequent.

  In the handwriting part, Yan Fu's nephew He Renlan wrote "On the Book of Learning with Jia Peiqing from Yanshan Mountain" and two pieces of paper "The First Draft of the Story of Zeng Guofan's "Old Map of Bronze Senses" by Yan Fu at the request of others are his academic or opinion expressions; There are three lyric manuscripts and six lyric compositions, which are in the early version; the cursive script self-authored the messenger's post; the running regular script Song poems and the book self-authored ancient couplet sentences and two papers.

Among them, Yan Fushu's old work "On the Book of Learning with Yanshan Jia Peiqing" and the rare cursive Chinese post are the best, which reflect Yan's academic thinking and calligraphy study respectively.
