[Commentary] It is the 57th anniversary of the "86 naval battle". On August 6, "Mai Xiande - always ready for the motherland" with the theme of "Tribute to' Iron Warriors, Dedicated to Struggle and Strong Army"!

"The oil painting collection ceremony was held at the Chinese People's Liberation Army Naval Museum (hereinafter referred to as the "Naval Museum") in Qingdao, Shandong. Zhang Libo, director of the Naval Museum, issued a collection certificate to Guangdong painter Feng Shaoxie.

[Commentary] In the Naval Museum, the narrator vividly explained the heroic deeds of Mai Xiande. On August 6, 1965, the '86' naval battle started. During the battle, Mai Xiande, a 611 marine engineer, was hit in the head by shrapnel. Still fought tenaciously with amazing perseverance for 3 hours until the battle was won, and was known as the "Steel Warrior".

[Explanation] Feng Shaoxie, vice president of the Guangdong Academy of Painting and vice chairman of the Guangdong Artists Association, said that a hero is the soul of a nation. The reason why he painted Mai Xiande is because he has been reading Mai Xiande's little book (comic) since he was a child. Growing up, I admired this hero very much.

However, it is not easy to draw people's heroes well. After many revisions, it took 23 days to complete the creation.

Throughout the creative process, I think in this painting to inject a real "wolf warrior" eyes, (and) his lips, this kind of clenched teeth, this action to strengthen his always ready for the motherland stance.

As an artist, we should praise the hero and take him as a model of patriotic education, so that the younger generation can learn and inspire their patriotic feelings.

[Explanation] According to reports, this painting is 1.8 meters long and 2.1 meters wide. The work uses super realistic techniques to make the characters in the huge painting very shocking, and the image of Mai Xiande's iron will is impressive.

Not long ago, the works were exhibited at the Guangdong Painting Academy, and Mai Xiande visited the site in person.

He stood in front of the painting for a long time, and the smoke of war in the background seemed to remind him of the past again.

[Explanation] It is reported that in the future, this work will be permanently displayed in the Naval Museum and displayed to the audience, so that everyone can continue to learn from it in the process of viewing, and inspire more dream chasers to move forward bravely.

This painting reflects the hero Mai Xiande's absolutely loyal political character, the revolutionary spirit of daring to sacrifice, and the bloody responsibility to defend the sea.

In the future, the exhibition of this painting in the Naval Museum will definitely speak for the times, sing for the heroes, and inspire our young people in the new era to struggle tenaciously and unremittingly.
