Kyoto Prefecture and Kyoto City announced on the 6th that 4706 new people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
It was the second highest number of confirmed cases ever announced on Saturday.
Two deaths were also announced.
As of the 5th, there were 15 severely ill patients, down by 2 from the 4th.
