On the anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, junior high school students in Hiroshima City carried out activities to convey their own message of peace in English to foreigners visiting the Peace Park.

This initiative is carried out every year by the city of Hiroshima on August 6th, the day of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, in order to convey Hiroshima's wish for peace to the world.

On the afternoon of the 6th, about 40 local junior high school students delivered their own messages of peace in English to foreign visitors to the Peace Park.

Among them, Kumpei Aoki, a third-year student at Kuchida Junior High School in Asakita Ward, Hiroshima City, told a 28-year-old British man living in Tokyo who visited Peace Park on the day of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, "I will change the past. We cannot change the future, but we can change the future. Even if we are from different countries and cultures, we share the same desire for peace, and let us continue to share the preciousness of peace together.”

A man from England who heard this said, "I am lucky to have heard a message of peace. I think his message is more important than ever. I want more people to spread the message of peace." I was talking.

After the activity, Mr. Aoki said, "I was happy to know that people from other countries share the same feelings. I can't say for sure that the world is peaceful now, but I will continue to spread the word through various activities. I want the people of the country to think deeply about it," he said.
