Yinghu Lake is located in the upper reaches of the Han River in the southwest of Ankang City, Shaanxi Province. It was formed by the Ankang Hydropower Station dam to impound the Han River water, with an average annual runoff of 17.65 billion cubic meters.

Due to the long shoreline and rich vegetation in the Yinghu Lake Basin, and nearly 600,000 people live in the upper reaches, a large number of floating objects accumulate on the lake surface of the reservoir area during the flood season, which is a key hidden danger for the water quality of the Han River and flood control and emergency rescue.

The Yinghu Ecotourism Area has explored and formed a long-term governance mechanism of "water and shore integration" for floating objects in the reservoir area.

Since the operation of this mechanism, more than 200,000 cubic meters of floating objects have been salvaged and cleaned up, and the water quality of Yinghu Lake has been maintained at an excellent standard for a long time, which effectively guarantees the "sustainable northward journey of a river of clear water".
