On August 4, local time, an explosion occurred at a police abandoned ammunition disposal site in Berlin, the capital of Germany.

Because the disposal site was located in a forest, the explosion also started a forest fire.

It is reported that this processing point belongs to the Berlin police and stores dozens of tons of ammunition and other explosives left over from World War II.

Typically, police conduct two detonations each year, each lasting several days.

At present, the German military participating in the disposal operation has dispatched armored vehicles and remote-controlled robots to assist in detection, identification and bomb disposal.

Affected by the explosion and fire, Berlin's rail and road traffic was partially interrupted.

However, because the explosion site is far away from residential areas, there are no reports of casualties or damage to houses.

The local fire department warned that due to the continued high temperature, the fire may still spread rapidly, and nearby residents need to prepare for evacuation in advance.
