It is one week until Tokushima City's Awa Odori festival, and the city is decorated with lanterns for the first time in three years.

The Awa Odori in Tokushima City will be held for four days from the 12th of this month, and for the first time in three years, a box seat will be set up in the city to serve as spectator seats, and large-scale traffic restrictions will be implemented in the city center.

On the 5th, along the national highway in front of JR Tokushima Station, the venue, workers decorated bright red and yellow lanterns and checked if the lights were on.

Lanterns are also displayed near paid performance halls in the city and along the roads where dancers dance, adding color to Tokushima's summer nights.

Also, in the city, installation of box seats at paid performance halls is underway, and it is scheduled to be completed around the 10th of this month.

The worker said, ``I want tourists from outside the prefecture to be careful not to be infected with the new corona, and enjoy the Awa Odori in the city.''
