Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Vice President of the Buddhist Association of China, and President of the Tibetan Branch of the Buddhist Association of China, Panchen Lama Erdeni Choji Jeb, returned from Lhasa to Tashilhunpo Monastery in Xigaze on August 2.

  At about 11 o'clock on the same day, on both sides of the passage of Tashilhunpo Monastery, monks lined up to greet the Panchen Lama by playing conch shells and holding rainbow cloths. Under the guidance of eminent monks holding yellow umbrellas and incense burners, the Panchen Lama walked to the Tsoqin Hall from Duojia Courtyard to worship the Panchen Lama.   On August 3, the Panchen Lama, surrounded by the monks of Tashilhunpo Monastery, paid homage to the Tashi Nanjieling Pagoda Hall, Ganyur Lakang, Ganden Lakang, the Fourth Panchen Lama Temple, and Jampa Buddha in turn. There are 26 Buddhist temples in total.

Everywhere he went, the Panchen Lama and the eminent monks chanted sutras together, threw highland barley, and prayed for good weather, peace and prosperity for the country.
