In one of the cases of parental disobedience that sparked a wide wave of controversy and anger in Kuwait, the misdemeanour court sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to 6 months in prison, due to his mistreatment of his elderly father and his beating on him.

The facts of the case refer to the referral of the young man to trial on charges of disobeying his elderly father, where he asked him to be disciplined and not to disturb the neighbors, so he shouted at him, and the matter developed until he kicked and slapped him in the face, so the defeated father filed a complaint against him.

According to Al-Qabas newspaper.

The court considered the necessity of punishing the young man for his act and applying the articles of the law to him, stressing that disobeying parents is an unforgivable crime, and assaulting them is a heinous act that contradicts human values, morals and the law.
