The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has announced that it will accept applications from businesses participating in this system from the 4th for a new support system that gives points to households and companies that cooperate in saving electricity as part of measures against soaring prices.

It is expected that points will be awarded as early as this month.

In response to rising electricity prices and a tight supply of electricity, the government will introduce a system that will provide points equivalent to 2,000 yen to households that have registered for electricity saving programs implemented by electricity retailers.

In addition, we will set up a system to subsidize about 200,000 yen for companies.

Regarding this, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will accept applications from retailers participating in this support system from the 4th to the end of September.

It is expected that points will be awarded to households as early as this month, as users will be able to register from the power saving program of businesses whose applications have been approved.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry expects about 45 million registrations for households and businesses combined, and wants to increase the number of businesses implementing power saving programs to more than 100.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is also considering adding points to each company's program according to the amount of electricity saved, and plans to further strengthen power saving efforts in the winter, when a severe power supply and demand is expected.
