A shocking video of Naira Ashraf's corpse provokes a wave of anger and urgent official action

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Dakahlia in Egypt, Sherif Makin, announced that he quickly directed an investigation into the incident of circulating a video clip of the student, Naira Ashraf, who is a dead body inside the Mansoura Specialized Hospital, and the matter sparked a storm of anger on social media platforms, demanding the need to deter such abnormal behavior.

McCain added that Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health, and Dr. Ayman Mokhtar, Governor of Dakahlia, quickly directed an investigation into the incident, to find the identity of the videographer, and to indicate whether he was from the medical staff, to take the necessary measures regarding him.

McCain explained, according to a number of local media, that the student was taken by ambulance to the Specialized Hospital, and then the Mansoura International Hospital morgue, and she was accompanied by a large number of young men and girls, all of whom were taking pictures and videos of her.

While Dr. Muhammad Khallaf, Director of Mansoura Specialized Hospital, "Old General", confirmed that the video circulating of the student, Naira Ashraf, was filmed by a group of young men and girls who attended with her at the time she entered the hospital.

He added that the video was filmed with a mobile phone and not from the hospital's surveillance cameras, stressing that on the day of the incident a large number of young men and girls attended with the victim, and they violated the security while preventing them from filming.

Khallaf denied that the videographer was from the nursing team, but he was one of those who attended with the girl, stressing that the nursing task in this case is to take pictures only that show the condition of the body and the jewelry it is wearing, and prove it in the hospital books, which was done with Naira Ashraf.

The Director of Mansoura Specialized Hospital confirmed that an investigation will be opened this morning, Wednesday, and review of the old memo that security officials edited while preventing citizens from filming, to clarify the truth of the incident.
