Young man accused of trying to "scare" the Queen of Britain

British prosecutors have charged a man who was arrested at Windsor Castle in possession of a bow on Christmas Day.

The Associated Press reported that prosecutors had charged the man with intent to "hurt" or "intimidate" Queen Elizabeth II.

The accusation against 20-year-old Jaswant Singh Chail under the Treason Act came after he was allegedly arrested on the palace grounds with a bow.

The Southampton resident is accused of "unloading or aiming firearms or throwing or using an offensive substance or weapon with intent to harm or frighten Her Majesty," according to Spotmek.

This is an accusation under Part Two of the Treason Act 1842. Also charged with threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon, Chail is taken into custody and will appear in Westminster Magistrates Court on August 17.
