Turtle disrupts trains in England

A wounded turtle has disrupted train traffic in eastern England for several hours, according to Greater Anglia rail company.

And Greater Anglia posted a tweet on Twitter, stating that "animals on the tracks in Harling Road caused the closure of the line and trains passing through this station may be canceled or postponed."

"A giant tortoise on the Norwich Line is still alive but injured," Diane Akers, a passenger on one of the trains, said on Twitter, and posted a picture of the turtle with visible scars on the top of its shell.

As for Anna Debenham, who was also on a stranded train, she conveyed, on her Twitter, the little information that was being broadcast, as follows: "We apologize for the 74-minute delay on this train, due to the presence of a turtle on the tracks."

She added: "I heard clearly, there is a turtle causing chaos on the tracks," according to "AFP" and "Sky News".

And Greater Anglia later announced that "the infected turtle has been removed and all lines reopened," noting that traffic "will slowly return to normal."

And the train company reassured, via social media, that "a specialized care team treated the turtle and informed the company that it would recover completely."
